Indications
Floriz Alpha tablet is indicated for the treatment and prevention of: Premature hair graying Delayed hair growth Split hair ends Weak, brittle, splitting or soft nails Hair loss Eczema & dermatitis Deficiency of Biotin, Keratin and Alpha Lipoic Acid
Composition
Each film coated tablet contains- Biotin (as D-Biotin) 5000 mcg, Keratin 10 mg and Alpha Lipoic Acid 50 mg.
Pharmacology
Biotin is an essential vitamin that influences the growth and differentiation of epidermal cells. Therefore Biotin is important for the formation and renewal of the hair, skin and nails. Keratin is a structural protein that connects epithelial cells of hair, skin and nails. It promotes keratinocyte growth and stimulates natural keratin production in hair, skin and nails. Alpha Lipoic Acid is a vitamin like substance with neuroprotective, antiinflammatory and strong antioxidant properties. It improves the blood flow to peripheral nerves with the goal of stimulating nerve fiber regeneration.
Dosage & Administration
Orally, 1-2 tablets daily with water; better to take before meal or as advised by the physician.
Interaction
There are indications that anticonvulsant drugs lower the plasma level of Biotin. Antibiotic use may decrease the Biotin contribution to the body made by the microflora of the large intestine. Excessive consumption of raw egg white interferes with Biotin absorption. Alpha Lipoic Acid may antagonize the action of Cisplatin matrix thus concomitant use should be avoided. Concurrent use of Alpha Lipoic Acid with antidiabetic agents may cause additive hypoglycemic effects.
Contraindications
Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Biotin, Keratin and Alpha Lipoic Acid.
Side Effects
Generally, well tolerated in recommended dose. Occasionally nausea and allergic skin reaction may occur.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Not recommended due to lack of evidence.
